2021 Plano East Marching Invitational
The Rock Hill Blue Hawk Band had a fantastic first contest showing this past weekend! They performed at the Plano East Marching Invitational at Tom Kimbrough Stadium.
Their prelims performance was their best to date placing 3rd overall and 2nd among 5A Bands. They also won Outstanding Color Guard and General Effect in the Preliminary competition. After waiting on buses through a 2 hour lightning delay, the competition resumed with the 6A Bands and Finals were back on for the night.
Their Finals performance under the lights was electric and received a huge response from the crowd! Late Saturday night, when the results were announced, they placed 2nd overall in Finals behind a 6A school, J.J. Pearce. They again took Outstanding Color Guard as well as adding Outstanding Percussion in Finals. This was a huge first step for our band program as a competitive group especially considering the show isn’t even complete.
This week they will be adding Part 4 and debuting it at our next Football game on October 14.
Special thanks go out to Coach Humble the Rock Hill Football team for coming to cheer us on in Prelims!
