Last Saturday, the Rock Hill Blue Hawk Band had its inaugural public performance at Meet the Blue Hawks held at PISD Children’s Health Stadium. The night was an amazing showcase for our band along with all of the RHHS fall sports, the Rockettes dance team and our RHHS cheerleaders.
The program opened with an introduction of the band on the big screen by none other than Mr. Wilson himself followed by each of our 12 seniors introducing themselves. The program also featured a joint collaborative recording of the Wind Symphony and Rock Hill Choir performing our brand new Alma Mater. The Alma Mater was written especially for RHHS by renowned composer and trumpeter of the Boston Pops, Michael Martin.
The Band followed that up with a fun pep band arrangement of Billy Idol’s “Rebel Yell”. After each of the other organizations were featured and their seniors were introduced, the Rock Hill Band finished the program with our Fight Song. The Fight Song performance featured the Rock Hill Colorguard performing on the field with their beautiful Blue Hawk Spirit Flags. The night was capped off by a beautiful fireworks display courtesy of PISD.
We can’t wait for you to see the Blue Hawk Band perform at their first football game on Friday, October 2.
