Band Camp is Here!

Week Three Details:

Monday, Aug 9:

• • 8:00 – 11:30 am
  • 11:30 – 1:00 – Lunch (bring a lunch if you can’t make it back in time)
  • 1:00 – 4:00 pm
  • 6:00 – 8:30 pm

Tuesday, Aug 10:

• • 8:00 – 11:30 am
  • 11:30 – 1:00 – Lunch (bring a lunch if you can’t make it back in time)
  • 1:00 – 4:00 pm

Wednesday, Aug 11: First day of school! NO Band Rehearsal Today.  *****Bring instruments for in-class rehearsals.

Thursday, Aug 12: NO Band Rehearsal Today.  *****Bring instruments for in-class rehearsals.

Friday, Aug 13:

• • 5:00 – 7:00 pm – rehearsal
  • 7:00 -7:30 pm – Load trucks for Stadium Rehearsal
    • Pit dad’s*, Loading crew, Drumline, & Sousas

Saturday, Aug 14 at Reynold’s Middle School Eagle Stadium:

• • 7:30 am – Unload Trucks (Pit dad’s*, Loading crew, Drumline, & Sousas)
  • 8:00 am – 12:00 pm – Rehearsal at Eagle Stadium

Afternoon block cancelled so students can rest and be fresh for performance!

• • 6:30 pm – Call time for Students (Black Polo & Shorts)

–As with all rehearsals, students should arrive 10-15 mins early and be ready to
begin by 6:30pm

• • 8:00 pm – Performance – Parent Preview! This is when we get to see what our kiddos have been learning the last 2+ weeks!!!
  • 8:30 pm – Performance concludes (load truck and return to RHHS to unload)
    • Pit dad’s*, Loading crew, Drumline, & Sousas

*Calling out to the band dads (and moms!) – are you interested in helping with loading/unloading the equipment from the band trucks?  Let us know!  Looking for some extra muscle to make the work a little easier!

Then Looking Ahead…

Mon, Aug 16 – Fri, Aug 20 – Regular in-school rehearsal schedule begins

• • 6:45 am – 8:00 am – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
  • 5:00 – 8:00 pm – Tuesday

Sat, Aug 21 – Saturday rehearsal

• • 8:00-11:30 am
  • 1:00-3:00 pm

Week Two Details:

This week is similar to last week – expectations are the same, but there are a few differences to note on the band schedule.

• The daily schedule for the 2nd week of Band Camp and the Color Guard Summer Band Schedule can be found on the Members Page.

Color Guard – no changes to your schedule from what was sent out last week, but it’s also attached below.

Important notes on next week’s schedule for band students:

• • • Tuesday – NO morning camp!  Only afternoon and evening rehearsals
    • Thursday – 3 rehearsals (morning, afternoon and evening)
    • Friday – 3 rehearsals (morning, afternoon and evening)
    • Saturday, Aug 7 – 3 rehearsals
      • 8:00 – 11:30
      • 11:30 – 1:00 –  Lunch (bring a lunch if you can’t make it back in time)
      • 1:00 – 4:00pm

Important info for Battery: 

The Battery will be playing at Convocation on Tuesday morning.

Report time is 6:15 AM at RHHS Band Hall.

Week One Details:

• The daily schedule for the 1st week of Band Camp and the Color Guard Summer Band Schedule can be found on the Members Page.

Each morning, plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to be ready to start right at 8am unless your band kid loves running laps for being late!

Please also note that on Tuesday and Thursday there are 3 sessions of camp – morning, after lunch and evening. Saturday, July 31 is band camp AND registration day AND picture day!

• Regarding lunch breaks during band camp. Students are welcome to bring lunch, stay on campus and picnic (inside in the hallway, or outside in a shady spot if they wish) with their fellow campers. They are also allowed to leave for lunch and return in time to begin the afternoon camp (Don’t be late!!! See above about being late to practice!).

Another lunch option – Concetta’s Italian Kitchen has set up a lunch order site where you may order lunch and it will be delivered to the school for the student. Concetta’s is owned by one of our wonderful band parents and we are excited to share this option! Please direct any questions you may have for dietary restrictions, etc to Concetta’s.

• On Monday, July 26th, RHHS is hosting an orientation event for incoming Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors who were exclusively virtual for the 2020-2021 school year. Those band students wishing to attend, will be allowed to leave early from camp.

Please just communicate with the directors.

• On Tuesday, July 27th, RHHS is hosting Fish Camp. This is an orientation event for incoming Freshmen.

Those students who have signed up and wish to attend Fish Camp will be excused from the masterclass that afternoon. Again, please communicate with directors. Then return at/by 6pm for the evening band camp session.
