Janiya PettawayJaniya is a Clarinet player here at Rock Hill. She recently completed a veterinary internship at a local vet hospital and will be obtaining her Veterinarian Technician Certification in a few short weeks. She also has a little brother, Nehemiah, who will being joining the Hays Hawks band as a sixth-grade percussionist next school year. During high school, Janiya has been involved in National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Student of the Month, Marching Band, FFA, and CVA Veterinary Clinic. She loves shopping, hanging out with family/friends and being a comedian. After high school Janiya plans to attend college and major in PreVeterinary Medicine/Animal Science for a career in Veterinarian Medicine. |

Dyan BellDylan is a squad leader of the trumpet section and in the Rock Hill Wind Symphony. He has one dog named Bravo that loves butter and being bragged about. Throughout high school, Dylan has participated in band, bowling, National Honor Society, robotics, solar car, and UIL academic competitions. He chose to come to Rock Hill High School for his friends and the chance to help start the band program and be a member of the school’s first graduating class. Dylan is deciding between colleges Colorado School of Mines and Texas A&M University. He hopes to major in either mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering, but also hopes to continue playing trumpet in his free time. Despite parting ways with the RHB, Dylan wishes its members the best and is excited for their bright future ahead. |

Alexa Dominguez RohanaThroughout high school, Alexa has been involved in tennis, band, Tri-M music honor society, and Spanish honor society. She has played the flute/piccolo for the Wind Ensembles of Prosper and Rock Hill high schools, has placed in an all-region band all four years, and was a concerto finalist her junior year. As a senior, squad leader, and Officer, Alexa firmly believes in the foundation that the directors, leaders, and all members of the band have contributed to during such a unique year. She is extremely hopeful for the future of the Rock Hill band, and thankful for the numerous opportunities it has extended to her. After she graduates, she plans on pursuing a finance/business degree at the University of Texas at Arlington. Although she will not major in music, she hopes to continue playing the flute. |

Rebekah BelongaRebekah plays flute in the Wind Symphony at RHHS. She has a younger sister named Jocelyn who plays French Horn and will be attending Rock Hill as a freshman next year. Rebekah has committed to study International Relations at Wheaton College for the fall 2021 semester. She also plans to join the Army ROTC program on campus. Even though she is leaving Texas, Rebekah will continue to cheer on the Rock Hill band and looks forward to seeing it grow in the coming years. |

Juan Vera GonzalezJuan is the percussion captain here at Rock Hill. His freshman and sophomore year he played bass drum and he has spent the past two years on the snare line. Juan plans to attend either UT Austin or Texas State University for his undergraduate degree in psychology and then plans to attend the University of Denver to receive a masters in forensic psychology. Juan has a beagle named Rosie and he also has a little sister, Valentina, who is a sophomore bassoon player in the Rock Hill band. Some of his hobbies include building Legos, playing video games, watching sports (especially soccer), and of course, drumming. |

Kaitlyn CyranowiczKaitlyn has participated in colorguard and theater all four years of high school. She has been a part of the UIL One Act Play production team and is the first ever student to be a Color Guard captain at both Prosper High and Rock Hill. She was a founding member of the girls lacrosse team at Prosper High and was involved in the national honor Society and Interact Club. |

Clarissa PalomequeClarissa is a trumpet player at Rock Hill. She has now been in the top band for the past three years. She lives with her mom, her sister Nayeli, who is a freshman bassoon in the RHB as well, and two pets, a dog, Niki and a kitten, Yoko. During her free time, Clarissa enjoys listening to music, embroidering, reading, and watching scary movies. She is part of both the English and Spanish Honor Societies, Best Buddies, and has recently joined the United Cultural Society. For college, Clarissa is planning to attend Texas Woman’s University and major in music therapy. Psychology and music have always been her greatest passions, so pursuing a career as a music therapist is her dream. |

Christa NaberChrista is a bass trombone player and a drum major in the Rock Hill band. She is an Area level musician in the 6a classical and jazz All-Region competition, as well as receiving a 1 at the state solo and ensemble competition for the past three years. She is also a member of the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra. Some of her hobbies include reading, learning American Sign Language, and watching movies with her parents. Christa plans to pursue music performance at UNT or DePaul University. |

Julia RayJulia plays the oboe and the alto saxophone. This year she is the librarian, alto saxophone squad leader, and band officer. She decided to go to Rock Hill to participate in a new band program and create the foundations and traditions for a successful band. She has also been involved in Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, and French Honor Society during high school. After high school, Julia plans to major in communication sciences and disorders to pursue a career in speech-language pathology. |

Jenna RayJenna plays the bassoon in the Wind Symphony and the alto saxophone for marching band. She is the alto saxophone squad leader and band librarian this year. While in high school, Jenna has participated in National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta for three years. She enjoys reading, playing with her dog, Zoey, and skiing. Jenna has a twin sister in the band, Julia, who plays oboe. After high school, Jenna plans to attend college and major in kinesiology for a career in physical therapy. |

Miranda KangMiranda is a percussionist here at Rock Hill. Her freshmen year she played bells in the front ensemble, then vibraphone sophomore year, and marimba her junior year. This year even though Miranda is a virtual student, she made snare on the drumline. After graduation, Miranda plans to attend Texas A&M to study aerospace engineering. She hopes a career at NASA or Space X is in her future. Miranda has 5 year old Coton de Tulear dog named Alex. She also has a little sister, Madison, who is a freshmen flute in the band that she looks forward to watching go through the program. Some of Miranda’s hobbies include reading, running, video games, and drumming. Miranda is in National Honor Society and is a Texas High School Aerospace Scholar. We are very honored to have Miranda be one of the founding seniors of the RHB. |

Jolina CarlbergOur first senior spotlight of the year will be Ms. Jolina Carlberg! Jolina is a bass clarinet player who was also in color guard while at PHS, and now is one of our RHB Drum Majors. She plans Some hobbies include paddle boarding, long boarding, painting and hiking. We are very honored to have 12 amazing seniors leading the RHB, and we look forward to learning more about them over the course of the year! |
