Color Guard

The Color Guard/Winter Guard is open to all Rock Hill High School students by audition. Color Guard is a combination of the use of flags, sabers, mock rifles, and other equipment, as well as dance and other interpretive movements. Color Guard students are members of the Rock Hill Band program regardless of whether they also play an instrument. Enrollment in the Color Guard class during the Fall Semester (1st & 5th period) is mandatory to perform in the Color Guard. Likewise, enrollment in the Color Guard class during the Spring Semester (1st & 5th Period) is mandatory to perform in the Winter Guard. The Color Guard will prepare and perform routines for marching competitions with the Rock Hill High School Marching Band, pep rallies, parades, and various community service opportunities. In the spring semester, the Color Guard may compete as a Winter Guard, the indoor side of the color guard activity, at the discretion of the directors.
