Madison Hughes

Associate Director of Bands

Madison Hughes grew up in McKinney, Texas where she graduated from McKinney Boyd High School.  During her time in high school band, she served as a section leader, drum major, principal clarinetist, and lead tenor saxophone player in the jazz band. Ms. Hughes participated in TMEA All Region and All Orchestra performances as well.

She attended Oklahoma State University where she graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelor’s in Music Education studying clarinet under Professor Babette Belter. During her 4 years at OSU, Ms. Hughes was awarded the principal clarinetist spot in the Oklahoma State University Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Joseph Missal. She got the opportunity to perform in masterclasses with professional clarinetists Anthony McGill and Julian Bliss. In addition, Ms. Hughes served as visual and music section leader in the Cowboy Marching Band as well as ran her own private lesson studio.

Ms. Hughes student taught at Edmond North High School mentored by director of bands Dr. Brad Coker. During her time in Edmond, she conducted the high school symphonic band, coached All State chamber ensembles, taught beginner classes, and worked with the jazz band. After graduation, Ms. Hughes moved back to her home state to begin her professional teaching career.
